Evolution of our education
For years, the participation of teachers and students in the environmental education programs we provide, has built a community of students and teachers who appreciate and integrate environmental teaching in their classrooms. Through our programs we promote a new educational approach which is focused on students and is consistent with the principles and the philosophy of the environmental education and the education for sustainability.
Simple and without fanfare, the Cyprus Centre of Environmental Research and Education develops an innovative and courageous path of alarm and responsibility, of education and consciousness, of knowledge and action toward our environment which “suffers and struggles”.
- It has created a master of educational exhibition material of environmental education.

• It has organized a series of successful actions like events, seminars and conferences.
• It participates in competitive research programs.
• It collaborates with the University of Cyprus and other universities in Cyprus and abroad.
Promoting ecological habits in our daily lives.
Every decision we take either individual or within our family, at work or at school has a significant impact on the natural environment. Our daily habits will determine how the planet we live will be, and what environment we will deliver at the next generation. So it is up to us to protect our natural environment, starting from the change of our habits.
Useful advice regarding the adoption of ecological habits in our daily lives are given daily at all the listeners of the radio broadcast of the Cyprus Centre of Environmental Research and Education "Look at the Environment” hosted at the radio station of the Holy Church of Limassol. Helpful tips are also given on the website of CY.C.E.R.E.
Consciousness about wetlands.
The Cyprus Centre of Environmental Research and Education (CY.C.E.R.E.) organizes the Cypriot Celebration of the World Wetlands Day. By highlighting important issues regarding the protection of the Wetlands CY.C.E.R.E. contributes in the information and the consciousness development of the public, it motivates volunteers, it encourages initiatives.
Highlighting the relationship between Orthodoxy and Ecology.
As an Environmental Center founded by the Holy Church of Limassol, the Cyprus Centre of Environmental Research and Education (CY.C.E.R.E.), since its foundation, gives particular emphasis into the relationship between Orthodoxy and Ecology. Every year, it organizes with great success the celebration of the Pan-Orthodox Day of Environmental Protection designated by the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the beginning of the religious year, namely the 1st of September.
